For Alimiya Diploma Pathway A
Last 10 Surahs
This is part of a continuous learning process, as learning
the correct recitation of the Quran requires a longer period of time (which varies
from person to person). This level is designed for those who cannot read the
Quran in Arabic or the pronunciation is incorrect. The course introduces the
basic knowledge of ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Articulation points of letters) and
‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters). It focuses on correct pronunciation of
last short Surahs/Chapters of the Quran. This course is expected to run over
one Term.
To enable participants to:
- Understand the key issues related to ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Articulation points of letters) and ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters)
Improve their correct pronunciation and memorisation of last ten Surahs including Al-Fatiha
At the end of the course participants should:
- Have gained adequate knowledge of ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Points of articulation)
- Have acquired basic knowledge of ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters)
- Have improved their recitation of the majority of the last 10 Surahs
- Have memorised the majority of the last 10 Surahs with correct recitation
- Be able to
apply all major rules of Tajweed through attentive listening
At the end of the course participants should:
- Learning ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Articulation points of letters)
- Understanding core ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters)
- Learning correct recitation and memorisation of last 10 Surahs including Al-Fatiha
- Learning the recitation of the Quran (with Beginners reading sheets/Qa’ida if needed)
- Practical application of Tajweed rules in recitation and memorisation through listening
Last Half of Juz 30
This is the continuation of level 1A. This level is designed for those who can read the Quran in Arabic but not fluently and do not have much knowledge of Tajweed. This course further expands on ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters) and also introduces the core rules of Tajweed. It focuses on correct pronunciation and recitation of the last half of Juz 30 of the Quran. This course is expected to run over two Terms.
To enable participants to:
- Understand ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Articulation points of letters) and ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters) comprehensively
- Improve their correct pronunciation and recitation of last half of Juz 30
At the end of the course participants should:
- Have acquired full knowledge of ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Points of articulation)
- Have become confident with the application of ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters)
- Have improved their pronunciation and recitation of the majority of the last half of Juz 30
- Be confident of correct recitation of the last 10 Surahs
- Be familiar with the core rules of Tajweed and its application in recitation
At the end of the course participants should:
- Learning ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Articulation points of letters)
- Learning all rules of ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters)
- Learning rules of ‘Madd-e-Asli’ (original elongation) & half of ‘Nun-Sakin and Tanwin’ rules
- Practical application of Tajweed rules in recitation and memorisation
- Learning correct recitation of the last half of Juz 30
- Improving the recitation of the Quran (with reading sheets/Qa’ida, if needed)
First Half of Juz 30
This is the continuation of level 1B. This level is designed
for those who can recite reasonably fluently, can also apply basic Tajweed
rules but not a high level of recitation with perfection. This course further
expands on most Tajweed rules. It focuses on correct pronunciation and
recitation with Tajweed rules of first half of Juz 30 of the Quran. This course
is expected to run over one Term.
To enable participants to:
- Understand rules of ‘Nun-Sakin & Tanwin’ and ‘Mim-Sakin’ comprehensively
- Improve their correct pronunciation and recitation of the first half of Juz 30
At the end of the course participants should:
- Have become confident with the application of ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters)
- Have improved their pronunciation and recitation of the first half of Juz 30
- Be confident of correct recitation of the second half of Juz 30
- Have gained adequate understanding of rules of ‘Nun-Sakin & Tanwin’, and ‘Mim-Sakin’
- Be familiar with the core rules of Tajweed and its application in recitation
At the end of the course participants should:
- Learning correct recitation of the first half of Juz 30
- Improving the recitation of the Quran (Whole of Juz 30)
- Practical application of ‘Makharijul Huruf’ and ‘Sifatul Huruf’
- Learning the remaining rules of ‘Nun-Sakin & Tanwin’, and rules of ‘Mim-Sakin’
- Practical application of Tajweed rules in recitation and memorisation
Juz 29
This is the continuation of level 2. This level is designed for those who can recite fluently with Tajweed rules but need improvements on ‘Tartil’ to recite with perfection. This course revisits the rules of ‘Makharijul Huruf’ (Articulation points of letters), ‘Sifatul Huruf’, (Qualities of letters) and other Tajweed rules taught in previous levels, while covering the remaining rules of Tajweed. It focuses on correct pronunciation and recitation of Juz 29 of the Quran. This course is expected to run over 2 Terms.
To enable participants to:
- Understand rules of ‘Madd-e-Fari’’ (derived elongation), letter ‘Lam’ and letter ‘Ra’ comprehensively
- Improve their correct pronunciation and recitation of Juz 29
At the end of the course participants should:
- Have gained confidence with the application of ‘Sifatul Huruf’ (Qualities of letters)
- Have improved their pronunciation and recitation of Juz 29
- Be confident with correct recitation of Juz 29
- Have gained adequate understanding of rules of ‘Madd-e-Fari’ and rules of letter ‘Lam’ and letter ‘Ra’
- Be familiar with all rules of Tajweed and its application in recitation
At the end of the course participants should:
- Learning correct recitation of Juz 30 and 29
- Improving the recitation of the Quran (Juz 30, 29 and other Chapters)
- Practical application of ‘Makharijul Huruf’ and ‘Sifatul Huruf’
- Learning rules of ‘Madd-e-Fari’ (derived elongation) and rules of ‘Lam’ and ‘Ra’
- Perfecting recitation with all ‘Tartil/Tajweed’ rules

Principal Teacher
Sheikh Fahim has graduated with a MA in Teaching & Learning and a Bachelors degree in Business Studies and Marketing from London. He also completed a Diploma in Arabic and a Bachelors degree in Usul-ad-Din and Usul-al-Fiqh in Arabic Medium from the European Institute of Islamic Sciences in France. While studying Shariah he also completed an intensive Tajweed course on Ibn al-Jazari, a classical Tajweed text, and studies Tajweed extensively under a number of Tajweed scholars.

Sheikha Selina has graduated with a Bachelors degree (BEd) in Primary Education, CELTA and PTLLS from London. She also completed a Diploma in Arabic Language and a Bachelors degree (BA) in Usul-Ad-Din and Usul-al Fiqh in Arabic medium from the European Institute of Islamic Sciences in France.
